On AOL’s website, Vero Beach recently ranked in the top ten cities to snag a millionaire. They said that Vero Beach Florida encompasses the wealthy seasonal and year-round communities of Riomar, The Moorings, John’s Island, Windsor and Orchid Island, Vero Beach offers a respite from the crowded beaches and over-frequented hotspots of Miami and Palm Beach. With an equally beautiful slice of the Atlantic Coast — and with housing prices that have historically been lower than the resort towns to its south — Vero has become a destination for real estate moguls looking to cash in. Already a favorite of retirees and rock stars (Bon Jovi and Prince are rumored to have homes there), the “Treasure Coast,” (named for the riches that washed up on its beaches centuries ago) has restrictive zoning which has allowed it to retain a quiet, residential atmosphere — an even bigger draw for CEOs and hedgefunders looking for a little R&R. Plus, with the nickname of “Dodger town,” which it earned for playing perennial host to the L.A. Dodgers spring training camp, Vero Beach also gives you the chance to snag a baseball player, preferably one who makes a mint.
